The default. Lowest capital cost, widely available, well understood. Shorter design life and materially affected by ambient temperature — every few degrees above 20 °C shortens it, which matters a great deal in the Kingdom.

Three topologies, and they are not interchangeable.
Most UPS disappointment comes from buying the wrong topology rather than the wrong brand or the wrong size. IEC 62040-3 classifies them, so a specification can be written precisely.
VFI
Online double conversion
Mains is rectified to DC and re-inverted to AC continuously, so the load never sees the incoming supply. Zero transfer time and full conditioning. Required for anything where a few milliseconds matter — medical, data centre, process control.
VI
Line interactive
Runs the load on filtered mains and corrects voltage through an autotransformer, switching to battery only on failure. Efficient and cost-effective for offices, comms rooms and edge equipment tolerant of a short transfer.
VFD
Standby / offline
Passes mains straight through and switches to inverter on failure. The cheapest protection and appropriate for individual workstations — but not for anything a building depends on.

Energy storage
What sits behind the inverter.
The battery decides the running cost, the footprint and how often someone has to come back. It is worth more attention than it usually gets.
Lithium
Higher capital cost, considerably longer service life, far smaller and lighter for the same autonomy, and much more tolerant of heat. Often the cheaper option measured across the life of the installation rather than the purchase order.
Supercapacitor
Very high cycle life and near-instant recharge, with short autonomy by design. Suited to ride-through duty where a generator picks up within seconds and the UPS only has to bridge the gap.
Autonomy & redundancy
Runtime is specified from the load profile and what happens next — orderly shutdown, generator start, or full ride-through. Parallel and N+1 configurations where a single frame failure must not take the load with it.

Crossworld Trading supplies these systems in partnership with Amoori Trading LLC, who hold the authorised reseller appointment in Saudi Arabia for Riello UPS and Schneider Electric (APC). The manufacturer authorisation, warranty and factory-backed service sit with Amoori. Specification, pricing, import, clearance and delivery sit with us.
We are explicit about that split because a UPS is not a one-off purchase. It needs commissioning, battery replacement on a schedule, and someone contactable when it alarms at two in the morning. Knowing which company does which part before you buy is worth more than a slightly better price.
