Crossworld Consultancy — a division of Crossworld Freighters LLC
Advisory division

The finance function for a business operating in the Kingdom.

Zakat and VAT, ZATCA e-invoicing, bookkeeping, payroll and market entry — delivered with SMR Financials, an ACCA practice in London, for companies working across the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.

The short version

Customs and tax are the same numbers, filed twice.

This division exists because of something we kept running into on the freight side.

The customs value we declare on an import becomes the import VAT a client recovers on a ZATCA return. The HS classification decides the duty. The clearance date decides the tax period. When the broker and the accountant are different firms who never speak, those numbers drift — and the reconciliation lands on the client.

We already run customs brokerage out of Jeddah. Putting the compliance work alongside it means the declaration and the return are prepared from the same file.

The second reason is direction of travel. A great deal of business runs between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom in both directions, and most advisers only understand one end of it. SMR Financials handles the London end; we handle Jeddah.

Who this suits
  • UK companies setting up or already trading in Saudi Arabia
  • Saudi businesses with a UK subsidiary, supplier base or investors
  • Importers whose VAT position depends on how their customs entries were made
  • Companies facing a ZATCA e-invoicing integration wave
  • Founders who want a finance function without hiring one yet

Straight answer

How this is structured, and why that matters.

Accounting and tax are regulated professions in Saudi Arabia in a way they are not everywhere. We would rather set out the structure plainly than let you assume something that is not true.

Crossworld Consultancy is delivered in partnership with SMR Financials, a London practice holding an ACCA practising certificate and registered in England and Wales. They bring the accounting discipline; we bring the Jeddah operation, the customs data and the ground presence.

Work that Saudi law reserves to licensed practitioners — statutory audit, and formal representation before ZATCA as a registered tax agent — is referred to SOCPA-licensed firms we work alongside. We do not hold those licences and we do not present ourselves as holding them.

These services also sit outside the commercial registration of Crossworld Freighters LLC, which covers freight forwarding, customs and the trading activities described elsewhere on this site. That is precisely why the partnership exists rather than us simply adding a line to a brochure.
